‘Wall Street’ Funded the Panama Papers

A few days ago the world was upset by the leaked ‘Panama Papers’, supposedly exposing various countries and people, even heads of states, of wrong doing with tax evasion and other illegal wrongdoing.

However, what was most amazing is that this has been copied throughout the whole world and that most, yes almost everybody, took the information for face value.

Almost all newspapers and journalists around the world took the information as ‘true’ and copied the information without any hesitation. No journalist did some research about whether this information was correct, and who are behind the information.

It was first published in the SudDeutsche Zeitung and that was for most of the people enough. However, the findings of research on the people and organisations behind these Panama Papers, are, in fact, quite shocking:

The SudDeutsche Zeitung states: “The Süddeutsche Zeitung decided to analyze the data in cooperation with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).” Well, that is interesting, because who are the ICIJ?:

On their page we read: “The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ‘Founded in 1997 by the respected American journalist Chuck Lewis, ICIJ was launched as a project of the Center for Public Integrity‘”.

Finally, for those curious why not a single prominent US name features in the Panama Papers, the reason may be found within the snapshot of the non-profit ICIJ’s funding supporters, because near the bottom we read:

“Recent ICIJ funders include: Adessium Foundation, Open Society Foundations, …”

It is well known that the Open Society Foundations which, as everyone knows, is another name for George Soros.

The Sponsors of the Center for Public Integrity include a whole list of organisations, including the:

And many other Foundations.
